(2012) This is a high-speed mouse trap-powered car designed to run a 10-yard drag race. I created a gestural automotive form atop the frame because of the skeletal nature of the chassis. Chassis components are carbon fiber and laser-cut acrylic, with the body formed from thin polystyrene strips. Unlike traditional mouse trap cars, which are powered by the lever of the trap cage, this design uses multiple springs in a series to lengthen the amount of time that there is tension on the rear axle. This allows the gear ratio to be much lower, increasing acceleration.
